Getting started
An outing is one shared place for multiple receipts, different payers, participants, assignments, and settlement progress. Create or join an outing, add the receipts from the whole occasion, then review who consumed and paid for what.
Creating outings
The organizer creates the outing and can add the people expected to take part. Keep receipts from the same occasion together even when they arrive at different times or were paid by different people.
Each outing has its own shared record. Check the outing name and participants before adding private receipt or payment information.
Adding receipts
Add multiple receipts by scanning or entering them manually, and record the person who paid each one. Review extracted items, amounts, fees, and discounts before assignments are finalized.
A newly added receipt belongs to the outing as a whole; it does not replace earlier receipts.
People and guest links
People can participate through a private outing link without installing the app. They select or enter their identity, then use the mobile browser to view the shared outing and take available actions.
A guest opening the link on a new browser or device is not automatically recognized and selects or enters their identity again. Share private links only with intended outing participants.
Assigning and claiming
Participants can claim available items, while supported roles can assign or split items. Review every assignment before settlement because those choices affect each participant’s balance.
Taxes, service, and discounts
Receipt-level tax, service, and discount values stay connected to that receipt. Review whether the printed total already includes them before confirming the receipt so they are not counted twice.
When a fee applies across the receipt, OutingBill allocates it using the receipt’s supported split rules. A fee assigned to specific participants follows that selection instead. Discounts reduce the relevant receipt amount before final balances are shown.
Payments and confirmation
OutingBill calculates balances and nets reciprocal amounts into one difference. For example, if Sama owes Rana EGP 220 and Rana owes Sama EGP 25, the remaining payment is EGP 195 from Sama to Rana.
OutingBill records and coordinates external payments but does not hold, process, transfer, or independently verify money. Pay now copies the exact amount and opens the recipient’s saved InstaPay link when available. Complete the transfer in InstaPay, outside OutingBill.
Payment proof is optional. It is kept with the outing’s restricted payment flow, is viewable only by the sender, receiver, and organizer, and can be downloaded. The receiver confirms or rejects the recorded payment. Personal collection progress and whole-outing settlement progress update after that decision.
Notifications
A notification stays unread when you only enter the Activity area. Opening that notification and following it marks it read. Mark all read is the only action that marks every notification read together.
If an action changes the underlying outing, the related activity and badge should update as fresh data arrives.
Account and privacy
Use Profile to review account settings, notification preferences, and the permanent Delete account action. Shared outing details are visible to the participants who need them, while optional payment proof uses the restricted sender, receiver, and organizer flow.
For the deletion path and its effects, open the account-deletion instructions linked below.
Troubleshooting
Cached information can remain visible when the internet is unavailable, but actions that need the network wait or fail with a clear message. Reconnect, return to the affected screen if needed, and retry the action. OutingBill does not promise full offline editing or guaranteed background sync.
If a private outing link cannot load, check the connection and try the same link again. Do not post the link publicly or include its token in a support message.
Looking for account deletion?
Account deletion starts inside the signed-in mobile app. Review the permanent effects before confirming.
