OutingBill privacy
Privacy Policy
This policy explains the information OutingBill uses to provide shared outing, receipt, assignment, and payment-recording features. It covers the mobile app, guest web experience, and this public website.
OutingBill keeps a shared record for people taking part in the same outing. Please read this policy together with the choices shown in the app and guest experience.

Information we collect
For organizer accounts, OutingBill handles sign-in identifiers and account details supplied through the available sign-in provider. Profile information can include a display name, email address, profile photo, language, repayment details, and notification preferences.
Outing information can include the outing name, participant names and roles, receipt images, merchant and receipt details, items, fees, discounts, amounts, payers, assignments, claims, balances, activity history, payment methods and statuses, notes, correction reasons, repayment details, and optional payment-proof images.
For guest participation, OutingBill creates or uses a temporary authenticated session, records the display name or expected participant selected, and associates that session with activity in the outing. The browser also stores the participant identifier for that outing so it can restore the guest experience.
If notifications are enabled, OutingBill handles a device push token, platform, language, notification preferences, notification records, and delivery status. We also receive the information a person chooses to include when contacting support.
How we use information
We use this information to sign people in, create and display outings, let participants join and collaborate, scan and review receipts, calculate assignments and balances, record payment updates, show activity, deliver requested notifications, and support account and profile features.
We also use relevant information to investigate errors, respond to support requests, keep the service working, and address suspected misuse or safety issues. OutingBill records and coordinates information about payments made outside the service to update the shared outing. It does not hold money, does not process payments, does not transfer money, and does not independently verify external payments.
Information visible to outing participants
An active private link can show the outing name, organizer name, and available expected-participant names before a guest joins. A person who joins can see shared outing information needed to claim or review items, understand assignments and balances, and follow payment status.
Participant display names, roles, claims, assignments, and payment updates are part of the shared record. Receipt-page images are handled separately from the shared receipt data. An optional payment proof is available only through the restricted proof flow to the sender, receiver, and outing organizer.
People in an outing may see and act on information entered by other participants. Do not add information to an outing unless it is appropriate to share with its participants.
Service providers
OutingBill relies on service providers for app hosting, database and file storage, authentication, receipt scanning, and push-notification delivery. The information involved depends on the feature: for example, receipt images and extracted receipt data are involved in scanning, sign-in details are involved in authentication, and device tokens and notification content are involved in push delivery.
Apple, Google, an app store, a device operating system, or an external payment app may handle information under its own terms when a person chooses to use that product. OutingBill does not control those separate products.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only as needed for service operation, safety, disputes, and applicable obligations. The time needed depends on the kind of information, the outing or account state, and why the information is still required.
Closing an outing or leaving it does not by itself erase its shared record. Deleting an organizer account removes organizer-owned outings through the account-deletion process described below, while participation history in an outing created by somebody else can remain without links to the deleted account.
Your choices and requests
Available controls include editing organizer profile details and preferences, changing notification choices, disabling a registered push device, updating claims or assignments where the outing allows it, rotating a private invite link, controlling whether people can join, and closing or deleting supported outing records.
You can contact support to ask about information connected with your account or participation. We may need enough detail to identify the relevant account or outing and to avoid exposing a shared record to the wrong person.
Account deletion
An organizer can start permanent account deletion from the mobile app. The process removes the organizer authentication account and the outings that account created, including records attached to those organizer-owned outings. This action cannot be undone.
If the same account participated in an outing created by somebody else, that outing and its participant history can remain. The deleted account identifiers are detached from that participant record. After account deletion, the app separately attempts to remove the profile photo; contact support if you need help with that content.
Children
A parent or guardian should decide whether a child may participate in an outing and should supervise that use. Do not place a child’s information in participant names, receipts, payment proofs, or support messages unless you have appropriate permission to do so.
Contact support if you believe a child’s information was added without appropriate permission, and include enough detail for us to locate the relevant account or outing safely.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when OutingBill features or information practices change. The date at the top identifies the version shown on this page. Please review the updated text when a new version is published.
